Oregon Public Broadcasting will air coverage of Portland’s cult ride the De Ronde van Oeste Portlandia on their Oregon Field Guide program tonight.
The ride — which is a loosely organized, grueling bike ride/race that traverses many miles of Portland’s steepest hills — attracted over 600 riders back in April.
Oregon Field Guide is an excellent program that captures the beauty of Oregon’s country and outdoor activities. The episode will air at 8:30 pm tonight on OPB. A video of the segment will be posted online shortly thereafter.

“grueling test of man and machine” — difficult on all involved, for sure – is one to understand that (a) this isn’t tough on ladies or (b) that ladies aren’t involved?
Given that cycling is a male-dominated sport, I’d argue that it’s particularly important to beware gendered language…
bikingpotato,
sorry if you took that as “gendered language”. i figured “man and machine” was a known saying… i’ll make an edit.
thanks.
I did this, ’bout killed me. Great fun and look forward to the next one.
Went there, did that, coming back with more gears. This time I shan’t dismount!
