Support BikePortland - Journalism that Matters

Portland bike blog round-up

Portland continues to lead the charge of online bike fun. Check out these gems I’ve come across recently…

This site is run by Andrew Morton and Billy Spaceman. Andrew has been reporting on the local singlespeed scene for years and is the creator of two bike zines; One Speed Revolution and BUI (Bikeculture Under the Influence). He recently posted a report on the third annual N.O.I.S.E. (Northwest One-speed International Solidarity Event) that’s worth a read.

“A journal of my biking experiences” says BikeWad author Damon Buckwalter. Damon has rediscovered his love of riding and has turned into a solid commuter. Lately, he’s been posting about his experiences with the chilly weather. Rock on Damon.

Team Ugly Stick
Theses guy mostly get together for MTB rides and cyclocross races. Co-authored by native Portlanders “Puck” and “Smack”. Check out this post with some great photos of Syncline Trail.

Too Vanilla For You
I can’t quite figure this one out. It is supposedly written by stud racer and Bike Gallery Hollywood employee Shannon Skerritt...but it’s sort of strange and seems like it could be someone posing as Shannon. Most likely it’s a bunch of Bike Gallery employees clowning around. Either way, it’s pretty entertaining (and the comments are usually funnier than the posts!).

Bike Fun on
This is my former home that has been taken over by very talented writer and cyclist Bill Nothstine. He’s been posting some great information lately. Definitely worth a look.

I’ve added all these to my sidebar, which now lists 24 Portland bike blogs…take that Davis! For more on local bike blogs, check out this post.

Thanks for the plug but you’ve given me too much credit. My partner in GravelTech is Billy Spaceman, you know, the one with a flask cage named after him. Back in October he moved down to Australia for six months but, we’re still planning on putting some new issues of the zines.

Andrew! Gawd where have you been? You guys totally need to do more zines! We need more bike zines! And what the hell is Billy doing in Australia?
Go Reno!
