I’m excited to introduce the first in a series of BikePortland.org T-shirts (click to enlarge design)! Each shirt in the series will feature an original, bike-themed design from a local artist. The first featured artist is Carye Bye.
Carye is the founder of Red Bat Press and is active in the local bike and arts scenes. She is the heart and soul behind several of my favorite yearly rides including; the Bunny on a Bike Ride, the Pretty Dress Ride and the Small Museums Ride. Carye is also the curator of The Bathtub Museum, a fun collection of over 300 bathtub-related postcards!
I have been secretly working with her for months (OK, weeks) on this design and I’m very excited how it turned out. It features a jungle of wild characters riding bikes including:
- The famous “Bunny on a Bike”.
- A cool cat on a chopper.
- A mouse family on a tandem pulling a trailer.
- A racer dog on his road bike.
- An elephant on a tall bike!
The shirts are sweatshop-free and made in the U.S.A. by American Apparel from 100% sustainable, organic cotton. You can see the color (natural) and fit over on the AA website.
“Everybody Bike!” will be available for $15.00 on or before November 10th and a portion of the proceeds will go to Shift to help keep bike fun alive in Portland! This will be a limited run, so please email me with your size if you’d like to get on the pre-order list.
