True dat, buddy. Visibility works a lot better if you're located where the cars expect to see you, i.e. in the lane, following the same rules as cars, behaving predictably, etc. You can have all the reflectors in the world but if you surprise a driver, you won't get seen.

I want to make some for my bike, especially in the winter when it is often dangerous to turn/stick your arm out, electrics would be really nice













I saw a dude this morning in Palo Alto, CA covered in SAE reflectors -- on the back of the bike like this and in the wheels. I think maybe he wouldn't need the reflectors so much if he didn't run the red light in front of me and nearly get hit by myself and the line of cars behind me.
