The Lake Pedal

[Liability waiver and ride information]
What You Are Doing June 10?
Well, it’s a Saturday, so maybe you’re going to mow your lawn. Perhaps your cat is getting a vaccine shot. Those plans can wait because June 10th is the first annual Lake Pedal! Lake Pedal? You may be scratching yourself on the head in befuddlement. Yes, the Lake Pedal, the least stressful ride of the year.
Our adventure leads us on a quick jaunt (about 10 miles) out and about Lake Oswego. The ride will culminate with snacks and refreshments in the bustling atmosphere of the Farmer’s Market.
The Lake Pedal is organized by a group of students called the Bike Project from Lake Oswego High School. Through a class called Political Action Seminar, Lisa Carrigg, Sarah Hansen, Hayley Luhr, and Dayna Remmers have been able to shed a little light on safe bike routes, biking as alternative transportation, health, and general fun having.
We will kick off this spectacular ride at 9 am on June 10 from the parking lot of Lake Oswego High School. For about an hour and a half you, your bike, and your biking brethren will pleasantly pedal through LO.
Now, down to business. You do not have to have been on any kind of organized before; you do not even have to be an avid cyclist. You must, however, be knowledgeable about the rules of biking and arrive at the start with a helmet, adequate and safe bike, and the satisfying feeling of having completed an event waiver. More information online at bikeportland.com/lakepedal and waivers will be available upon request from lohsbikeproject@yahoo.com.
Cancel cleaning hair out of your drain and postpone canning jam with your grandmother. Instead, take grandma and your bike to the Lake Pedal on June 10. See you there!
