Default Broadway Bike Path

I was riding south in the bike lane on broadway after coming over the bridge. Traffic was a bit backed up and so I was passing the cars that were waiting. Suddenly a motorcyclist who also had a passenger on the back decided to turn right without signaling. He turned right into me, and I yelled and turned right sharply as well. Missed bike to motorbike contact by a couple of inches. The passenger on the back meant a lot of extra weight and he nearly dropped the bike.

Two of my closest calls since moving to town have been in the bike lane on broadway the other coming right in front of one of the hotels. We really ought to just remove the lane, it makes broadway sketchier than it would be without one.
