Default Addis Ababa

So Im living in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia right now. There arent very many bikes in the city, but i dont blame anyone for it because the cars are crazy. Ive thought of riding, but every time I almost work myself up to do it I see someone almost get flattened by some taxi driver. There are some very brave (or stupid) people who do it though.

Out in the country is another story- there are bikes all over the place! Its great to see so many bikes that have somehow managed to stay upright and functional all these years. These arent good bikes either, so its even more commendable that people can keep them going.

Anyhow, here is a link to a photo of some bike parking in the city of Bahir Dar. They had a paid guard to watch over the bikes, and the parking was always full. Enjoy the spring in PDX y'all, I miss it.
