Default Try to keep your bike

I was just looking at the stolen bike list at finetoothcog.com and noticed a trend; almost all the bikes listed were locked up with a cable lock. I am sure most of the members of this forum understand how futile a cable lock is, but for those that are just getting into to cycling and bike commuting; please use a u-lock, not a cable lock. The cost difference is around $5-$10, a price that is worth paying to keep your bike. I have spoke with many who think that since the bike they own is only worth $200, they can get away with a cable lock, but they fail to understand the value their bike holds as transportation (for themselves and the crack-head who is stealing their bike).
