Default Bike hazard on the road to University Falls

I had the pleasure of riding to University Falls yesterday but wanted to share a warning to any other bikers who might seek out this serene destination. After turning off of the Wilson River Highway the gravel road crosses two streams. The second bridge is wooden and has wide gaps that can easily suck in a bike tire.
I can't recommend this ride enough. I did it as a 60 mile loop from the end of the blue MAX line through Forest Grove and Gales Creek Rd. Just make sure to watch out for logging trucks and walk your bike across the second bridge.

Default alt route back

S-C, thanks for the idea. How's the gravel? Manageable with 32c tires?

As an alternative route to or from, try this run from Hillsboro-Banks-Hwy 6.
I find it more enjoyable than the Hillsboro-Forest Grove-Gales Creek Rd rout route - lots of really quiet roads between Hillsboro and Banks.

I had a similar thought. Actually making the BV trailhead at Banks the starting point.
