Bike License plates

so whats the deal with bicycle licnese plates? Was it required that people have them like at some point in history and now it isn't?

Do some states have the requirement? My curiosity is endless onthis topic.

Do some online research and post the relevant info back here to your thread. I'm generally aware that various towns and cities in the U.S. and in other countries periodically have and continue to experiment with licensing for bikes and license plates for bikes to go along the licensing.

The plates I recall seeing were dinky...about the size of a 3 by 5 card or smaller. Some places haven't even used plates, but just registration stickers.

My home town had bike registration stickers- you could get them at City Hall or through the bike shop where I worked. I think there was a $1 fee for the service- I don't think it was mandatory.
