Default Portland parks director retires

As the title of this thread states, Portland Parks Director Zari Santner is retiring. I first learned of this some time back by way of a short article in the Oregonian. Thought it might be covered in bikeportland main page story or a notice, but it doesn't seem to have been. Here's a link to a Portland Tribune story on her retirement:

The city will conduct a nationwide search to find someone new to fill the position (Sadik-Kahn of the NYC parks has been taking a lot of heat from nasty critics out there. Maybe she might be interested in coming to Portland?). That probably means big, big money for a salary to compete for someone that's really qualified. Which is o.k. to some extent, because Portland should have someone very good to manage its rather exceptional parks assets.

One of which is Forest Park. The new director of Portland Parks will have to take on the oversight of managing that park, which would include following up on interest expressed by Portland residents that enjoy off-road biking, for an increase off-road biking mileage on Forest Park single track trails. I would imagine that the hiring process for the new director would have to be very conscious of job candidates knowledge, experience, and outlook on the off-road biking sport, as they determine the best, most affordable person for the job. It should be very interesting to learn about the people the city considers for this job.
