Sorry for the late notice-- been busy here at the office (tax season and all that).
The City of Tigard and the citizen group involved in the creation of the City's new Bike Map will be having a map release party tonight at Max's Fanno Creek Brew Pub down on Main St in Tigard. It's scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30pm, but I'll bet people will be there later than 5:30. There will be free copies of the map available! Plus, Max's has great food and beverages for reasonable prices, and lots of bike parking. Very kid-friendly, too. Come meet the people who had a hand (wheel?) in the creation of this map! |

I've get off work at 6:30...
I'll swing by anyway and see who's still there. And somebody remember to take a camera and document the event. Rubberside Down! K'Tesh |

Hey Kt...doubtful I'll be at the shindig, but I definitely will be looking to get a hold of the map, maybe a little bit because your 'magic' touch had a hand in its production
. 'Free' would be a very good price for me. Since the forum member working with the city of Portland on their map update posted a thread here recently asking for forum member suggestions (sorry, forget his name), I've gathered together the local bike maps:

At the bottom of this page, there is a link to have the City mail you a copy:

Also, I understand that you can pick up copies at various locations throughout Tigard-- I've got a few extras here at my office, and I'm sure if you emailed Mike McCarthy with the City of Tigard, he'd be glad to offload some from the boxes in his office.
![]() Anyway-- I didn't take a camera so I didn't get any pictures, but the turn-out was pretty good last night. I saw at least 5 of our crew there last night as well as various city folks and the mayor, and friends/family of people came too (I brought my mom). The maps turned out quite nice, if I may say so myself, and there is a huge difference between the map our crew got at the beginning of the project and the finished product. I hope everyone who gets a map enjoys using it!! |

Thanks! Just requested a copy mailed to me.
Seems the large PDF file is corrupt. |

Yup...having one mailed too. I don't fully understand why at least a small dollar amount isn't charged for this map. If it's a good map...which I imagine it will be...two or three bucks would easily be fair. Maybe someone has it figured out that administrative effort would be such a hassle that it's not worth it.
Bike Gallery in Beaverton has a big wall rack just as you enter the store. Some of the other maps have been on that rack when I've gone in. Seems like this map would be a natural addition to those. For people coming in the store to browse, but not prepared to necessarily make a big purchase. it could be very compelling to drop two or three bucks on a swell map for a city that's very close to the beav. |

I usually explore mapless but I do carry the fold-up map handed out at the Bridgepedal. Very comprehensive and easy to carry. That is indeed the hallmark of a great map.
The test of this map will be to see if I can actually find Cook park
