The 2010 Mileage Challenge

Well, it's 2010, and it's time to start again...

What you do is put your name in with your mileage*... highlight it in RED, then the next person copies the list, and places their name above if they have more miles, below if they have less, and highlight their name in RED. When you update yourself, remove your old score.

At the end of the year, the one with the most miles... is at the top of the list, (and has the most miles). This is done only for fun, so no prizes.

What I do is bring a change of clothes with me each day in a waterproof pannier, shower and change when I get to work, and hang my damp cycling clothes from hooks fastened to the underside of my desk. The hooks stick with sticky tape. I got them at Freddie's for around $3 for a 3-pack. You can probably find them cheaper at a dollar store.

My cycling clothes (synthetics and/or wool) are almost always dry by the time I head for home.

I finished 2009 with lower weekly mileage than normal. I've been on short weeks since the end of September (using up vacation time, not, thankfully, job cutbacks). Then, just before Christmas, I lost a fight with a food processor, and missed a week while waiting for some skin to grow back on my thumb. Kitchen appliances are my kryptonite!
