Cops around when you need them...

Was riding home tonight on SW Center, when I spotted two bike mounted Deputies with a car pulled over on SW Lombard. They've been hanging around here a lot recently.

I came to a complete stop, and was in the crosswalk, when a WB SUV failed to come to a stop, then did a SB left turn, cutting me off.

The Deputy who wasn't working the existing stop yelled at the driver to pull over, which he did.

When the driver was asked did he know why he was pulled over, he replied that he didn't.

He was advised that he had just failed to yield to someone in a crosswalk, and ordered to produce his license and registration.



Oops... Dude has a suspended license (now he has additional problems).

Who says that there's never a cop around when you need them?

Bingo!...two points! I think that's what the cops refer to as 'good police work'. Catching someone on one violation opens the way for further inquiries. Did you stick around? Sometimes a stop like that leads further...funny odors coming from inside the car? Furtive movements as the cop approaches the driver's side door?
