Dear Fellow Cyclists

Last night my wife and I took our two dogs for a walk along the waterfront at Riverplace. At 8:00 in the evening the sidewalk was busy with people eating and strolling. 3 cyclists on separate and independent rides went through that scene just hammering past. Two of those guys (of course they were guys) made the same speed run on their return trip just a few minutes later.

People who know why this is an issue don't do it and people who do it are so self absorbed that they will never concede it is an issue.

What I do know is that these representatives of the Portland cycling culture recruited anti-cycling haters last night from people who otherwise would not have given it a thought.
