Default Maybe a stupid question, but...

I'm kind of a newbie biker living downtown, but working in Beaverton. I ride a single speed and I'm usually able to drive to work, but sometimes I get stuck out here after the MAX has stopped running. My question is, is there a way to ride home from Beaverton without going through any nasty hills? Again, single speed.

riding from Beaverton to Portland is easier than riding from Portland to Beaverton. I've found riding the Sunset Hwy MUP the easiest way to get into Portland. Excluding that short steep stretch of Pointer, of course.

Well thank you. But now i guess i have a follow-up question; what is the sunset highway MUP? And where is it located?

Corey, definitely a smart question to ask about the best route - here's a link to a map for Portland/Beaverton:

I've said this before, but I don't find Beaverton-Hillsdale highway all that bad to ride on (although it is a little sketchy until you get into Multnomah county, just East of Scholls Ferry). I find the hills a little more gentle going up to Hillsdale and over Terwilliger than the ones going up the Sunset path. Terwilliger dumps you out on 6th once you get downtown. It would depend on which part of Beaverton you are starting out from.
