Intro - Returning Portlander

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself! I am a native Oregonian and lived in Portland for four years before moving to NYC for grad school two years ago. I graduate in two weeks with my master's in nonprofit management and then I'm moving back to Portland, hooray!

I grew up in a small town and used to ride a bike everywhere as a kid but didn't get back into it until a couple years ago. I only rode in Portland a little bit before moving to the east coast and I felt pretty intimidated riding in the city. Now that I ride all over NYC, I find it pretty funny that I was so nervous on the roads in Portland!

I'm excited to get back and really enjoy the streets with my new-found confidence! Following traffic laws is going to take some getting used to but I'm looking forward to feeling a little safer. I'm generally a rule follower but I learned quick that over here it's every person for themselves.

Portland, here I come!
