NOTE: Date / time changed to May 15th 6:30pm - all other details remain the same
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are dozens of worthy issues in Portland, many having nothing to do with bikes, but all are important, affecting the very fabric of our society, life on Earth, or civilization as we know it. Come learn about them, or come and share your own with others! The Worthy Issues Ride - Friday, May 8th at 7pm. Meet at the Vera Katz statue on the Eastbank Esplanade. Immigration, global warming, corporate monopolies, criminalization of the homeless, the "Nanny State", police brutality, old-growth forests, jobs vs. the environment, peak oil, freedom of expression, big brother, nuclear power. Got an issue? Bring it with you - bring some flyers, bring some business cards. In the spirit of anti-corporatism, at the end of the ride we'll vote on a local brew-pub to visit to continue the discussions that may ensue. Come share your issue, or come find one to fight for or against - hope to see you on May 8th! -Matt Picio Last edited by Matt P.; 05-05-2009 at 01:49 PM. |
