Boy, I wish I could take credit for this idea.... but I got it from bikeforums.net's 2009 mileage challenge... thread.
So, here's how it works... You put your name in with your mileage*... highlight it in RED, then the next person copies the list, and places their name above if they have more miles, below if they have less, and highlight their name in RED. When you update yourself, remove your old score. At the end of the year, the one with the most miles... is at the top of the list, (and has the most miles). This is done only for fun, so no prizes. That said... Me first K'Tesh ----- 1823.0 Have Fun! K'Tesh *land based, Non-motorized vehicle mileage only. Last edited by K'Tesh; 05-01-2009 at 09:54 AM. |

Hi all, I'm new here! I'm in NYC right now, finishing up grad school. I'll be moving back to Portland next month and then I'll be on the road with the rest of you! My mileage looks a little sad next to yours but I've yet to embrace riding in the rain. Hopefully this will motivate me to pick up the pace!

Oh, alright. I don't like a speedometer on my bike (I know exactly how fast I should be going and don't like my actual speed arguing with me) but did install a computer for the odometer function in the latter half of March. Under the top tube, outta sight, outta mind. Anyway, it's 860 miles in 46 days, or 18.7 miles per day, which extrapolates to 2262 for the year.

Is this thread going to get thousands of replies, or what? Maybe we should just do a monthly check-in.

It's a Garmin GPS which I dare not leave on the bike when I'm gone running errands, so I don't always bring it with me. Scott |

(42 if I do both ways without using the MAX); 10 miles minimum if I take the MAX. Assuming 25 per day; that makes 125 per week. We are at about week 18. That would make a mininum of 2250. This does not include any of my incidental trips (shopping, movies, or anything else. I am probably closer to about 2270 or so. Luv Mark |

Commuter miles or total miles? One bike or commuter/road bikes?
