It's a fine little ride guide that I find myself gandering at often. Since I ride the gorge region often, it's a handy 98-page reference. It includes details of 16 road rides in and around the Colmubia River Gorge. The author -- Clint Bogard -- provides just the pertinent and important info. plus little extras such as whether a route has available services nearby and if a route is haunted by the gorge winds. I've tried all the routes, and approve of his difficulty rating. The summary of rides ranges from short jaunts to day-long tours.

Thanks for the tip - I'll put it on order as soon as Powell's web site is back up (down for maintenance until Monday, it seems).

I lived up in Carson, WA for a year. Lovely country. The transit system does not cater to the bicyclist in the Gorge (at least not on the Washington side). This book would definitely come in handy.
Nice catch btw Alan. Last edited by dmc; 04-18-2011 at 12:32 PM. Reason: "(at least not on the Washington side)." |
