Ok, we've got filmed by bike... How about Photos by bike...



I've started a little set on my flickr page of environmental pics. Pictures I took while riding, that I took just for fun or for the beauty of the setting.

So, got a great shot of your bike with Fall colors? Spring Flowers? Super cool vistas? Post em... But remember, attachments will be handled in the pescribed manner for optimal viewing.

And don't forget about our Bike Poetry thread, there's more pictures there.

Every morning, I get a beautiful view of Mount Hood across a yet undeveloped field where Evergreen Field used to stand.As much as I would like for the roads behind it to be connected as planned as part of the development, (they would provide a much easier connection on my way to school) it is still nice to have this view to look forward to every morning, especially with light fog or a red sunrise over the mountain.

I should really go take a picture of it, but until then, this image from Google Street View will have to suffice.

[Update:] Now I have a photo, albeit a low-quality cell phone shot. The sky was actually far yellower in real life—not blue.

I thought it was funny that this shot of mine had made it around the web from my flickr account, to my posting it on Wikipedia, Urban Adventure League, and now the article on the dead freeway ride.


And yes, K'Tesh, that is my normal view in the morning. Unfortunately, it's off of a five-lane arterial with only four-foot-wide bikes lanes, (three feet around one corner!) so it's never really too peaceful. It just so happens from this spot that Mount Hood is perfectly in line with the main runway for what was just a few years ago Evergreen Airfield.

There were plans to redevelop it into mixed-used shopping anchored by Whole Foods, but when they bought out Wild Oats with a store just more than a mile down the road, they dropped out and the entire plan fell through. While roads didn't get connected across the field as planned, (they would make my commute a bit easier) at least the view is still unobstructed.
