Figure having one thread with loops in (and around) PDX would be a good idea.
I'll start... http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/or...e/801074946088 This route is my new favorite. The interval training mixed with incredible views, foggy valleys, and quiet country roads makes this one a must try. What do you like? Last edited by ski_pdx; 09-30-2008 at 09:55 AM. |

i'd steer clear of sherwood. i was run into the curb there on tualitin sherwood road. its called the eric kautzky memorial route for a reason. tons of crappy commuter drivers with phones and the like. cipole is more pleasant, when not during the rush hour.

No real reason for staying on 99. I ride with a crew and it feels ok I guess. But I hate it (I hate cars). I have kicked around actually driving out there (gasp) to avoid having to ride there at all. Such a great ride, once you are there, it is a shame to have to stress about getting there.
Road up Cougar last night. Another amazing ride. I will map it soon. As for the rides being in PDX, let's just say it starts in the greater metropolitan area. I just want to get some good routes in the area. I hope to prime the pump and see some new ones I haven't done yet. Here is another one I like a lot. A trip to get there. But I can't describe how beautiful the Windy Ridge road is. If that is all you do, it is worth it. 10 miles in and ten miles back and closed to cars (if you didn't know). http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...r/128807578453 A must do. |

It was a semi-organized ride last spring, Johnathon did an article on it on BikePortland. You can still follow the little yellow Lion of Flanders markings at the key turns.

That clears up one of my life's mysteries. Seriously. This is working out for me. |

One of my favorite hill routes close to St Johns. A bit of gravel on Mason Hill Rd, but it's not too long.
http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...d/275259581119 Here's a version without the drop down the west side. http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...d/586019178331 Rocky Point Rd is a killer. |
