Purchased a stolen bike?

I bought a bike off craigslist the other day from a moderately shady character. I want to make sure I am the rightful owner.

I have already registered it with the National Bike Registry; I assume they would have told me if the serial number was reported stolen. Should my conscience be clear now? Is there any other place I can check?
