of course, I always wince watching the scene with dad and his two little girls riding a bike down country roads with no helmets on...

Default I see dead people...

Not that the ghost was riding in the scene, but she was clearly a rider...

Default Lord of the Rings... bonus materials

In one of the bonus materials segments in the LOTR DVD's I remember seeing numerous bikes. Apparently Peter Jackson and others used them to get between stages.

Default Ride the Rail...

Cody Wompole, played by Henry Thomas in his second major bike movie, created and used a Railbike to get over large distances in the film "The Quest". Nearly got himself killed by a "train"???

Later, he, his girlfriend, and her sister biked up to Devil's Knob on a picnic.

Default Discovery Channel on bikes...

Survivorman:
Les rode a mountain bike into the Moab during winter to demonstrate how to survive that environment... Tore his bike apart, but it did provide materials that were quite useful... I loved the tire tube used as a canteen.

Mythbusters:
Let's not forget Tory's jumping stunts out at the old abandoned Navy Airbase (w/prompting from the girls... crash and burn... no helmet).

May be showing some age, but don't forget Flashdance, where the heroine (Alex) was a bike commuter in Pittsburgh.

On the Mythbusters vein:

In the episode including drafting behind semi trucks, in the special segment online, Tory drafted behind the semi on a bike.

Scariest thing I've seen, especially since the car they were using had to be repainted afterwards because of all the rock chips!

It was still pretty interesting, though; he was basically coasting behind the semi at 25mph, occaisionally pedaling to stay in the draft.
