Free my coaster

I love my Shimano Nexus Inter-3, but I do not love the fixed crank position. Is there a way to switch it to a freewheel, or would I need to swap the hub to a freecoaster?

It also has a front hand brake. How much of a pain would it be to add a rear brake? Should I just take it over to the Bicycle Repair Collective and get some advice?
