Question Stolen Bike? I've got questions...

Relax, My bike hasn't been stolen, but I was thinking today... With all the posts about stolen bikes, that perhaps there could be some kind of sting to nail the pricks who think that bikes are just another way to get their fix. In fact, the first time I came to Portland as an adult, back in the early 90's, I was approached by a junkie who offered me a mountain bike for $20 near Pioneer Courthouse Square (I found a phone and called in a description of the bike and the junkie).

So, to perhaps find what is most tempting to theives, we should establish some general facts about the bikes that are being stolen.

What kind of bike, brand, style, color? Custom features? Got a pic you can post?

Where was it stolen?

What time of day?

What kind of locks were being used (if any)?

Then with this info, perhaps we can identify trends, set up a sting and then nail the bastards in the act.

Rubberside down!
