Stop the War!!! On Bicylists!!!

Ok, So I got your attention!

I was at the two "We Are Traffic" bike rallies back in November. I was the guy w/the crutch and the broken leg.
My sign read "It Just takes a Second"... A nice open ended comment... I was thinking:

"To Turn A Car Into A Killer"
"To Travel X feet at X MPH"
"To Ruin A Life"
etc.. etc...etc...

I feel my message fell flat. While I was in the shower this morning I came up with "Stop the War!!! On Bicylists!!!

I wish that I could have had a sign that fit better with my crutch, that was in the Spirit Of Our Message, "We are Traffic". So I'm asking to start a thread of slogans... Something that we can put on signs, banners, bumperstickers, you name it.

I REQUEST THAT THE MESSAGE BE TIMELESS

"We are Traffic" qualifies...
"Fire Kruger" doesn't. As much as we may agree or disagree with that statement, Kruger will be replaced sooner or later. Hopefully the NEED for bike rallies such as "We are Traffic" will be eliminated even sooner.

Your slogan at the rally was fine!

Personally, I like the red stickers that say "I parked in a bike lane" and are subsequently slapped on the offending car, but I guess that is definitely not in the spirit... I will come back if I think of any good ones.

I wanted to do a silkscreen of this one, so I didn't pull it out (in the chance I could make some $$). I have since changed my mind. Bike Safety is a right (possible slogan?) and I don't feel that I should expect to profit from it, except to be able to ride my bike where I want, when I want.

My new suggestion is a graphic, but I don't have the graphics software to do it myself....

A big "Don't" circle... (red circle w/diagonal slash)
then written in a car's tire tread w/black or red ink the word "ME"

Sorry K'Tesh - when I see "stop the war", I immediately think its a republican/democratic fight about Iraq. I suggest "Look Right, Save a Life!"

A few things:

1. K'Tesh, I thought your sign at the rally was very effective.

2. I agree that the "war" slogan is a bit off of what we want.

3. I really like "You own a car, not the road" but probably the more productive one is "Look right, save a life."

4. FYI, everything you write down, whether electronically or on paper, is immediately protected by copyright law. There is a registration process you can use for more protection, but you certainly don't need it for stuff like this.
