Ride Levels: Easy, Intermediate Free Pre-Ride Tune-up from 1:00pm to 3:00pm There will be an Easy Loop as well as an Intermediate Ride. Easy loop length - approximately 15 miles Intermediate ride length - approximately 30 miles Riders are recommended to bring a small snack for the rest stop at Argay Park. Both rides depart seperately from Madison Plaza. Cyclists may join or leave the ride at any point along the path. Ride accompanied by bike mechanics. Our club Code of Conduct asks each member to do their best to assist other participants in need during ride events. Sequence of Group Ride Events on Sunday April 9th, ALL TIMES ARE ESTIMATES: 1:00 PM Pre-ride free safety-check & mini-tune at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street Parking Lot. UBI certified mechanic(s) will be available with tools & bike stand. 2:00 PM Intermediate Ride Group assembles at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street Parking Lot. 2:10 PM Intermediate Ride Group departs. Ride south along the esplanade to MSI and turn onto Caruthers. Take Caruthers to the Springwater Trail and head south to Sellwood. Turn onto Umatilla and ride to SE 21st Ave. Swing onto Tacoma *Careful crossing the Hwy 99.* and continue east along Johnson Creek Blvd. Turn onto the Springwater trail near SE 45th Pl. Stay on the Springwater Corridor all the way to the 205 Freeway. Take the I-205 path north and continue on this path *be aware that the path crosses the freeway at Burnside* until just past the I-84 freeway. Take a right on Shaver and continue eastward past 102nd Ave. There will be a short rest stop at NE 122nd. Continue on Shaver to 141st Drive and south to 148th Ave. Continue south on 148th to Burnside. Travel back west on Burnside to the I-205 path and continue south to Mill Street. Travel west on Mill/Market street to 76th and cross Division to Clinton. Take Clinton back to Division Place. 3:00 PM The easy riders assemble at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street Parking Lot. New riders sign Liability Release Agreements. 3:10 PM Easy riders depart. Ride south along the esplanade to MSI and turn onto Caruthers. Take Caruthers to the Springwater Trail and head south to Sellwood. Turn onto Umatilla and ride to SE 21st Ave. Swing onto Tacoma *Careful crossing the Hwy 99.* and continue east along Johnson Creek Blvd. Turn onto the Springwater trail near SE 45th Pl. ALL TIMES ARE ESTIMATES. This is a good chance to test out your bicycle, safety equipment, ride clothing, and tool kits. We recommend bringing the following gear: Helmet Wireless Phone Gloves Hooded jacket or head covering Rain gear if necessary Riding glasses Tool pouch/multi-tool Frame Pump or CO2 Inflator/Cartridges Spare tubes/Patches Water bottles or Hydration pack Light Snack Bike: (Preferrably with fenders in case of rain) Both rides will be led by United Bicycle Institute certified echanics; no rider left behind. All riders will need to sign a Liability Release Agreement before departure. Under 18 riders please be accompanied by an adult.
