From Ride Planner Carrie Smith:
What is better than heirloom apples, fresh cider, farm animals, local wine, and country scenery in the crisp autumn air? How about seeing (and tasting) it all from the seat of a bicycle? ECT is planning a celebration of fall with a bicycle ride around Hood River's Fruit Loop. This is a 35-mile loop to apple orchards, country stores, and local wineries. http://www.hoodriverfruitloop.com/things/locations.html We will be making frequent stops along the way for treats and after the ride will gather at the Brooklyn House to make and consume fresh, homemade doughnuts and hot apple cider. Be sure to bring something to carry all the goodies you'll find along the way. We will carpool to Hood River. We expect to be at the parking lot at 1st & State Street in Hoodriver around 10AM. The Intermediate and Easy Groups will start together, share part of the route, and meet up and finish together. We currently have a van with 7 spots for riders and bicycles. Passengers are asked to contribute $5 per person to drivers who volunteer their vehicles. For those who cannot make it to the day-long trip but still want to join the post-ride festivities at Brooklyn House, estimated to start at 6pm, please indicate so on your RSVP so we know how many to expect. Please RSVP at: smithcarolinem@gmail.com or 503.545.1337 so we can coordinate riders/vehicles and if you can share your vehicle, please let us know how many you can transport. Sponsored by the Community Exchange Cycle Touring Club (ECT rides are currently uninsured; a liability release/waiver is required from participants.)
