I live on SE 72nd and Holgate. I'm looking for the fastest way to get to MAX going west. Any recommendations on a way to get to the 82nd street station w/o going out to the MUP (which is closed, anyway)? Is it best just to head up to the 60th St. Station?
Thanks. |

My partner goes from SE 42nd and Holgate to the Hollywood Transit Center a few times a week.
It might be best for you to ride Holgate from 72nd to 42nd and then go up that bike route to the Transit center. It's a nice ride, and there's even a bike stoplight at Burnside, I think. |

I agree with huss, it will most likely be faster to bike downtown and then get onto the max.
It's a nice easy ride. Just bike up 72nd to Foster and ride Foster past where it turns into SE 52nd then turn left onto to Hawthrone, follow that to the bridge and wahlah! You're downtown

Go along Holgate to 92nd. Take the bike path (as labeled) north until it puts you on the 205 Bike Path at Washington/Stark. Then to to Burnside and follow the bike path signs north to Gateway.

here's a link to a selection of bike maps (pdfs) - try the Neighborhood maps for SE and NE : http://www.portlandonline.com/transp...=34809&a=70221 |

I 205 bike path is closed south of Washington/Stark. It's open north of Washington/Stark. Tri-met temporarily rerouted the bike path to be SE 92nd (basically) and it's signed. That's what I was referring to.
