Default Minbike Steeplechase Event During Pedalpalooza? When?

Alright so I had planned an awesome minibike steeplechase race down washington park for minibike winter but on the day of the event the MAX was down for 10 hours. Damn.

So, now I have 200 glowsticks, miles of reflective tape and need to reschedule the damn thing. I want to do it during pedalpalooza but need to get a feel for what all is going on, and when I'd have the least competition from other events. I'd like it to be on Friday or Saturday June 16th or 17th. They look the most open on the current calendar. It needs to be after dark (around 10pm, no?) and will last an hour or two. We could arrange some sort of after party as well.

So basically what are your thoughts? Are there other events going on that I dont know about? I'm new at this organizing events thing, but the few guinea pigs I have taken down the course have loved it.

Here is a sorta run down of the details of the race:

Ok first off, its not a zoobomb, it starts at the Zoo's max stop
(underground) and follows a mysterious route down the hill to a
mysterious destination. This all happens after dark. The race starts
as soon as we, as a group, exit the elevators and see a marking
glowstick and reflective tape. Then as fast as possible everyone
follows the consecutive glowstick markers sort of like breadcrumbs. The route is very convoluted and purposely hard to follow. There are fast road sections and walk-your-bike off-road sections. Since it was originally intended as a minibike only race I would like to keep it that way, but we could do 2 heats. (a mini heat and a regular bike heat) The finish line will be a secret location downtown with prizes and beer for everyone!

Cheers! Thanks for the input,

Gabriel

Hey gabriel,

That sounds like an awesome event. You should definitely add it to the Pedalpalooza calendar! The calendar gets inserted into the Willy Week and Tribune (I think) and it's easy to add your event. Here's the link:

Yeah, I totally plan to add it to the calendar before the print deadline but wanted to iron out the best date first.
