There is a public comments opportunity regarding our forests.
There are two meetings scheduled where locally this is at the Hillsboro main library. On March 13th, pizza will be served from 5:00 to 6:00 if you RSVP (so they run out). RSVP to Chris - Smithchris.smith.505@gmail.com http://forestlegacy.org/wp-content/u...ings-Flyer.pdf This is the notice I received: Public Hearings! Speak Up for Conservation Areas! Now is the moment to speak up if you want balanced management of your Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests that includes visible and durable conservation areas! Two public hearings will be held next week where the Department of of Forestry is seeking public comments on the proposed "High Value Conservation Area" classification for state forest lands. Protecting the Tillamook and Clatsop is an integral goal for Oregonians who value fish, recreation, clean water, wildlife, and a legacy of natural beauty and natural resources. This is your chance to let decision makers know that you want visible and durable conservation on your state forests. We urge you to attend one of the following hearings and positively affect Oregon's forest legacy: Tuesday, March 12: Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce (207 North Spruce) 5pm Open house with maps and pizza! 6pm Formal public comment period begins Please email Bob Rees to RSVP Wednesday, March 13: Hillsboro Main Library (2850 Brookwood Parkway) 5pm Open house with maps and pizza! 6pm Formal public comment period begins Please email Chris Smith to RSVP If you cannot attend one of these meetings, we strongly encourage you to submit comments here! |
