Talking North Beaverton trail improvements

THPRD has recently unveiled some pretty substantial improvements to the trail network in the North Beaverton/Bethany/Oak Hills/Rock Creek area. If you live or travel in the area and haven't heard about or seen the updated trails, they are worth a look.
this link shows the general area.

More useful for utility or very casual riding, these trails make it possible to travel from the Terra Linda area near Murray/Cornell all the way to Bethany Village (Bethany/Laidlaw), or connect to the existing Rock Creek Trail for travel further west, without having to ride on 143rd, Bethany Blvd, West Union, or 185th. When crossing any of the above streets is necessary, there are either full signals to cross from one neighborhood street to another, or rectangular flashing beacons with crosswalks to mark trail crossing points. I took my kid from Bethany Village (QFC/Walgreens/etc.) all the way to the WinCo at Butler/Cornelius Pass on the cargo bike with only a few diversions onto sidewalks or quiet-ish streets. It's not the fastest way to go, but it's a lot nicer being able to point out ducks and other birds, stop to watch the "waterfall" over the weir at the southwest end of Bethany Lake, and be able to chat with your toddler without having to shout over traffic noise--all on the way to the grocery store to pick up needed items.

Biggest disappointment is that the newly completed sections of trail (and likely most of the network) are considered parks--which close at dusk.

I have ridden this a couple of time already. Certainly a welcome connection!
