When observing a car that has signaled right and is merging into the bicycle lane, slow down anticipating a right hook and yell out "Bicycle!" several times so that the motorist knows you are there and pass when safe. Carry around with you a copy of the oregon drivers manual to point out the LAW to anyone who is angered by your yelling at them.

Recently I've been observing more the oncoming traffic, especially on four lane roads for cars signaling left or slowing down to make a stealth left. I have had near misses by motorists making lefts into driveways on their cell phones (yatayatayata!)...beware stay alive.
