okcupid.com is a great free website. Seems to be very popular with the 20s and 30s croud.

After you make a profile search other profiles for the word "bike". Sometimes its used in the context of "I ride my bike everywhere" or "I cant live without my bike".

Good news,The girlfriend and I have reconciled.Long distance relationships has it's challenges but she does like beer and bikes.

To be a successful single cyclist:

• Never call a rider they've never met "honey" or "sugar buns."
• Also "Hey sexy!" As you zip by is not terribly impressive.
• Do no cut the que at the stoplight to demonstrate their impressive superiority.
• Don't talk about your "other" bike.
• Wait until the third date to admit you consider your ride a sentient being.
• It's not a good idea to admit you'd rather sleep with your bike than her.
• Realizes they've never gotten someone's number driving a car to work and prob shouldn't expect to do so on the commute...
• Unless you meet on the side of the road and can offer real assistance.
• Sign up for events and organize group rides!
• Participate in Pedalpalooza.
• Focus on your ride and riding and friendship. It's your shared interest. People can smell desperation and trying to hard.

I'm going to agree with dmc on this and recommend OkCupid.com. Based on my own personal experience, I can't recommend it highly enough. I met my now girlfriend on there a number of months ago, and things have been fantastic ever since; if anyone's familiar with the site, we're 99% matches and 0% enemies (A good sign, I take it). We've already even planned a short bike tour together this summer from the Bay Area back to Portland.

I've found the matching algorithm to be rather impressive at finding good matches based on what I'm looking for in a partner both locally and elsewhere. Match results are fairly accurate after answering only 25–50 questions, and only get more accurate the more questions you answer. Most importantly, it's all completely free; you don't have to fork over money just to message someone. I joined at the recommendation of a friend to check out the neat matching algorithm, and I couldn't be more glad that I did.

Even if you're not looking for a date, friend, or activity partner, their blog, OkTrends, provides a rather interesting look behind the statistics and trends of many things based off of the data from the website's users.

6:45pm Tandem Ride
Nothing beats a leisurely summertime ride on a tandem with your sweetie. Come join us for the second annual mellow ride on tandem bicycles through the neighborhoods of northeast Portland. We'll start at Irving Park (Fremont and NE 7th), and wind our way over about five miles to Peninsula Park on N Ainsworth where we'll have a post-ride picnic. Bring food and drink for the picnic, if you'd like. Doesn't it all just sound so romantic?!? All experience levels welcome, as well as solo (tandem curious) riders. '
