Default Fleet week and access to the Steel Bridge

Anyone know what's going on with the Steel Bridge? I thought it was supposed to be open, even during the Rose Festival with the fleet here, but the gate was locked on it this evening as I tried to ride home from work at 9pm on Thursday. Do I need to find a different route home on Friday night too?

The bike\ped path is closed, but you should be able to ride using the walkway next on the Steel Bridge next to the traffic lanes. That's what I did yesterday on my commute home at 5 PM.

So that is just for this weekend (and maybe Monday) right? It's supposed to be open during the entire MAX upgrade.

It would have been nice to have had a warning about the bridge (especially after a 12 hour work day). I searched and searched for any official message and there was none.

Default i hate to be a jerk but. . .

whats the time consuming thing about going up to the road deck. its maybe a two minute detour from being on the lower deck, and after you know about it it take the same amount of time. its actually faster to ride on the roaddeck and not do that damn switchback.
