I'm looking for a quick and safe route, preferably on a designated bike path that heads to 12th & Yamhill from 92nd & Holgate and Foster. Would like to connect to Hawthorne Bridge.

did you mean "Harold' instead of "Halsey"..? Because Halsey & Foster are pretty far apart, at least in my world.

I meant between Holgate and Foster. Thanks!

Division is the best crossing of 82nd that I've found. Try 92nd to Division, West on Division to 75th, South on 75th to Woodward. Follow Woodward West, you will need to turn North at 51st (or 50th) a few blocks to Clinton. Follow Clinton to 21st, North on 21st to 7 corners (Division), then take Ladd around the circle, stay on Ladd until you get to Clay. West on Clay to 6th, North on 6th to Madison which takes you over the Hawthorne Bridge.
Except for a few block on Division between 79th & 75th, it's all on Bike Lanes / Bike Routes. This is my commute route to downtown, except I take 148th to Division. It looks like there might be a better option if you can get to 80th & Center safely. Check the SE Portland Bike Map at http://www.portlandonline.com/transp...ex.cfm?c=34809

You can also try Woodstock from 90th to 28th, no bike lane from 52nd to 42nd, but very friendly to cycles. Take 28th to Gladstone, jog to 26th and take 26th to Clinton, than Clinton to 20th and than take ladds addition to 12th. At which point you'll have two routes to the bridge.
As a commuter I have been using this route for a year now with no problems. Just another option for you to consider. |

I'd go:
a very pleasant, fairly low traffic route. There is a small climb at Mt Tabor but worth it to my mind.
