Hi,
I'm hoping to get some local knowledge here. We're coming down the Pacific coast on a cycling tour. We're following the "adventure cycling" maps most of the way. We're looking a couple recommendations: 1. The best "bike friendly" road to take from Grand Ronde to Portland. 2. Can you recommend a good microbrewery that can handle about 30 cyclists/support staff? Thanks in advance for your replies. Kind regards, CDT '08 Planning commitee. I don't know a good route, so I'm just going to post a link to the Reach the Beach website. That route goes through Grand Ronde, so you could just follow that route in reverse. I've only ridden the Amity route, never the Portland route.

A slight, yet MUCH nicer modification of the Reach the Beach route, which you would be reversing is to turn right onto Grand Ronde road, and follow it past the reservation down to Hwy 18 (there is a store at the intersection).
Turn left onto Hwy 18 (easier here than it is further east at Valley Junction), follow it past the Casino, and turn right onto Yamhill River Road. That will take you into Willamina, avoiding the heavy traffic and evil rumble strips of Hwy 18/22 |
