Default That More Important Road... SR-22, also known as "Death Alley" because its per-mile accident rate has been among the highest in the state for years. Hence Lynne's highly excellent suggestion to leap off at the first opportunity ("Little Yamhill River Road").

P.S. -- It's not clear that it's so dangerous for cyclists, but it carries too much traffic to be pleasant in any event.
