...is SR-22, also known as "Death Alley" because its per-mile accident rate has been among the highest in the state for years. Hence Lynne's highly excellent suggestion to leap off at the first opportunity ("Little Yamhill River Road").
P.S. -- It's not clear that it's so dangerous for cyclists, but it carries too much traffic to be pleasant in any event.

The Little Nestucca (just south of Brooten Rd out of Pacific City) is a beautiful way over the Coast Range. It runs into some other (more important) road, which drops you into Grand Ronde. An annoying stretch heading east on whatever that highway is, then turn right onto quiet and scenic Little Yamhill River Road (past the casino a bit), which will take you into Willamina.
