A little more than a month ago I moved, and my new commute takes me the length of the Esplanade (north am, south pm). After a couple weeks I got tired of having to duck around some branches overhanging the path as you go under the Hawthorne Bridge northbound. I finally got around to borrowing my roomies pruners and cleaned up the tree a bit. On the way home I snipped some blackberry arms reaching out into the path of the foot (and wheel) bridge over Powell at the east side of Ross Isl Bridge. I need to get some pruners of my own, I regularly find need for them and usually can spare the minutes it takes.
