Williams/Skidmore/Interstate
As a cyclist from East Vancouver (east of 205), I usually make a loop heading southbound on 205 and northbound across the Interstate bridge. From the Steel Bridge, I usually prefer skipping Interstate Avenue's hill by going around the Rose Quarter Transit Center and up Williams Avenue. The bike route they have on the maps is to take Shaver to the Failing Street Pedestrian bridge, but I find that it is much quicker to just go up a few blocks further and take Skidmore across I-5 to Interstate. If you are only going to Overlook Park, it might just be quicker to take Interstate up the hill. Either way works, it just depends on if you are up for a hill or not.
