As a Portland resident, I think we need to keep him on the job and judge his performance. Based on what I have seen it appears that he has been shaken to the core over this scandal. I suspect he will...

Race across London, Bike, Car, Public Transport, or Boat?

I came across this video the other day. The race ends with very interesting results. For background, the video is from a BBC program called Top Gear, and automotive show that reviews cars with some...

Many saw the failure of the Big 3 inevitable. Unlike Japanese automakers, the Big 3 focused on large V8 truck based SUVs and light trucks where they could make the largest profit margin. They...

Fanno Creek

That is a section of the Fanno Creek multi-use trail. Last I knew, plans were in the works to connect that section east to Scholls Ferry.

The hard part will be connect west of 217 in the future.

The Shoes

The shoe style is exactly what makes guys like this a hipster. They wear the goofiest crap they can find at the thrift store. Your (our) reaction to the shoes and outfits are exactly what they...

Don't waste your time....

Hiring and attorney for this type of case will only cost you more in headaches and time than it is worth. you will probably spend more money to cover the legal costs than your bike is worth. Just...

Steel Bridge

I am riding to the northeast side next week for a couple of meetings. Looks like the most direct route is over the Steel Bridge. Can anyone tell me if the Steel Bridge is rideable? I rode over it...

If you do not have the money to spend at this time, just by a hardtail. If you have the money, go with a FS. I now ride a FS and love it. It allows me to ride longer without killing my lower back....

Mtb

Another GF MTB here. I built up a GF Wahoo for commuting. Added fenders, a rack, lights, bar ends, and street tires. On snow days I get out my KHS full suspension with mud tires.

I also tried the neoprene gloves. They worked well for me above 40 degrees. Below that they felt cold.

I would think that you could wash neoprene. It is pretty durable material. Maybe try to...

Firemaple,

I have found that a rigid MTB is the most universal bike for commuting and bombing around town. They are bit heavier than a road bike but you can attach racks and carry heavier loads...

Cell Phones....

I see this behavior daily. I have seen cyclists on phones while biking. Very dangerous. It is so obvious to see how the attention of the driver (or rider) is taken away from the task of driving...
