I owned the Electra Amsterdam for a time. That bike is really only built for cruising a mile or two at a time around town.

Go to the top of Rocky Butte, or Mt. Tabor (a volcano in the city limits.)

If you can get a hold of a bike, ride up. The view will be worth it and the ride down is a kick in the pants too.
