bike commute challenge
I ride in from outer SW, taking HWY 99/Barbur almost the whole way in, and getting to work by 6am. Yesterday I saw four riders heading in the opposite direction and one rider behind me heading in...

fatter tires
I switch to fatter tires. Not because I feel like I have more traction but because, as lefty said, it means less dodging of debris. I feel much more confident riding through a pile of leaves while...

I tell them that bike facilities are for the people driving cars, not for those on bicycles. A bike lane keeps me out of their way so they can go faster. If they want me in "their" lane, that's...

early commute
I have to be at work at 6AM. My commute is 7.34 miles to 10 miles depending on my route. I leave about 5:10AM which gives me a bit of time to wash up and change.

K'tesh, Sorry if you've posted this somewhere else but who do you contact when the street is maintained by ODOT, such as that one on the south side of Barbur in front of McDonalds?
