Schwalbe Durano Plus!
I can't say enough good things about these tires. Durable, nimble, easy rolling. However, I am the only person I know riding them. I'd be curious to others reactions.

So many times when another cyclist has gotten in front of me when I've had the right of way and I've called them on it I've gotten the bird thrown my way. Maybe there should be some kind of snarky...

Your legs will get stronger.
If you keep doing your RSTs you will notice your legs get stronger (both upper and lower leg).
You should not suffer from constant knee pain. If you do, then your bike is not sized/positioned...
