Similar situation for me years ago
I got my revenge through the insurance company and hopefully raised her rates.
One note about insurance companies, in my instance, they insisted that I give them the old parts that were damaged. I...

"counter sunk" has nothing to do with it
The left pedal is simply a left-hand thread (turn left to tighten). There isn't any counter-sinking going on at all.
My guess is that your bearings are going. When your bearings in good shape,...

Hey Alan,
The obsession with low center of gravity in cycling is a great example of people taking for granted that a particular premise (lower center of gravity is better) is true.
I could go...

Thanks wsbob
He's on the mend. Only one puke today (four yesterday) and he's starting to act more like himself.
My guess is that the ride last night was organized or at the very least spun off of an organized...

Amplified ride through SE at 2am
Here I sit at 3:45am trying to conjure the words to express my gratitude at being woken by screaming riders and their highly amplified club music slowly wending through my neighborhood at 2am. After...

It's not knowledge or competency as far as I see it. Both of these folks probably KNOW what they're supposed to do. They're just self-centered and think they're entitled.
Any test would be about...

Don't be a *#%^
Full disclosure - I don't usually come to a full stop at stop signs. But I give it a good slow down and I always take my turn. If a car got there first, I let them go and then I go. Basic courtesy in...

She's going to be just fine.
Sounds like you're making it out to be a LOT harder than it is. If you have a cross bike or a mountain bike you are totally fine. You just need some tread and enough tire volume to drop the pressure....

Bike Parking Hall of Fame/Shame
Thought that a crowd sourced compilation of bike parking; what works, what doesn't work, (or doesn't exist) might get interesting.
Consider placement and lockability. Is the rack located somewhere...

Yes, it would tick me off too.
I'd leave a note on the rack informing them that the rack is on public property. If they want it for their private use, it should go on their private property.

There are these things called bike shops . . .
and they'll make sure the bike fits.
Seriously. It's their policy that they don't do returns on bikes. Stated clearly.
They've done due diligence in informing you. You did not do your part.

A hand signal is not irrelevant.
In a case just like this, it would have helped. But then again, you got on here to vent about the other guy and obviously aren't interested in input that puts some of the onus on you. Ergo...
