Short term bike rentals?

Hi.

We've got a gent visiting our office for a few weeks from Belgium. He's asked about buying a cheap 2nd hand bike, but I was wondering if anyone knows if anyone rents bikes by the week.

He's...

Back surgery/back on my bike

I had back surgery 4 weeks ago (L5/S1 Fusion).

Of course, almost every day of those 4 weeks has been perfect cycling weather and it's been killing me to be off the saddle.

My doc is telling me...

If you can fit 26x2.5

Take a look at Maxxis Hookworms.

Virtually indestructable and real eye candy, too.

Heavy. Seriously. Heavy.

But fun. Really fun. Bead to bead tread like a motorcycle tire (which is why...

I guess I have a different viewpoint

I was a rotary wing pilot back in the days of the first Bush war.

The techniques these pilots are practicing and the familiarzation routes the D-boys are running make sense to me.

Landing a...

My favourite part

(and this is the only question I missed last time I had to take the test)

You can take a left from a two-way to a one-way against a red.

The question asked "Is this legal"

And I thought...

Who is this "We"?

I'm no minority. I'm just a former white suburban punk who has been riding his bike around Portland for a couple of decades.

And if I don't know you, I won't own any part of "We."

Others say it...

?

We're allowed to catch each other now?

I had no idea the season opened. What's the daily limit?

Is it catch and release only, or can we take a few home to fry?

Sounds fair

I'll bet if you got to know me, you'd like me.

That said, I'm not asking you to draft me.

I'm just saying that if I'm drafting you up Williams, I'm probably just waiting for a chance to pass...

Thumbs down To quote Ren/Stimpy's thoughtful moose

No, sir, I don't like it.

I can edit my own posts.

And icons if I want.

Feel free to reply.

I'm with AO on this

My behaviour on my bike is situational and personal

I no more represent married overweight fathers of two than I do the "biking community"

I subscribe to no tribe

Asking me to toe some...

OK, I'm only an errand boy sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill

but I've always been able to bring my bike to my desk. Over the course of several jobs.

Never asked permission, just did it.

So, assuming someone has gone to all the trouble to get all...

I'm there

If the boss agrees to watch the lads.

AO doesn't owe me anything, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

I'll be in the RB line k'tesh.

Can someone remind me to bring my lock on that day?

Got all my lights going...

After a summer of lightlessness (everything was mounted on my MTB and used for fun rides in the middle of the night...) I remounted flashies and my LogicMv to my roadie.

I too, had an odd...

The are RX and have a clear RX lens set with a flip up set of interchangeables.

Chariot seems to have the best option, trailerwise.

At least they did when bought our Burley 4 years ago.

Both our boys had to wait till they were over 12 months to ride in the Burley, and even...

Unless of course

You happen to be packing panniers that hold a change of clothes, lunch, a lock, (and what passes for a lightweight in your office) laptop.

I forget sometimes

And when there's cars about, I'd rather set the example than squeeze the lemon.

It's more an issue on my old analog commuter than my indexed mtb. The latter changes ratios like lightening, the...

"and how do you spell that, sir?"

Got me. A rookie mistake. Good on ya.

Still, his inches always bugged me. When he was pimping that goo, I was driving 30 miles a day. NoPo to LO.

Took me 1.5 hours most days to get home.
