I've also had very good experiences with B&M head lamps and tail lights.

The old Union dyno headlamps also have a very good focused beam, and work great with a 3w halogen bulb.

I will second the importance of properly aiming the beam so it doesn't blind oncoming traffic, particulary if you ride the Esplanade, Springwater or other MUPs at night.
