I look at the walk/don't walk signals to guage when a light is going to turn yellow. Most lights give a few seconds after the don't walk signal stops flashing - some more than others.

My ride is 15-16 miles and it ususally takes me 70-75 minutes. I think that puts me at around 12 mph. I'm not fast either.
