craigslist...Yee-hah! Wish someone I know got this bike... .

I've been watching craigslist bike ads the last couple weeks. Occasionally, there's good deals. Ve-e-ery good deals. Like this one:

Here's the ad text, in case it's pulled before you even get a chance to look at it:

Georgena Terry Despatch - $95 (Longview)

This Terry was new about 1990 and has been in storage for several years. Very small frame to fit 4'10" to 5' woman. Triple crank, 18 speed. Shimano indexed shifting. 360-577-0158

I would have loved to have some gal I know get this ride. Terry's are way cool. And the price is a steal.

how is this a woman's bike?

Hey spif...did you notice that the front wheel is a smaller diameter than the rear wheel? That's one clue that this is, if not exclusively a 'woman's bike', a bike for person's that have relatively short torsos and arms. Georgeana Terry...back in the late 80's or 90's, I think, was a originator of bikes with WSD (women's specific design) bikes.

The front wheel is smaller so the bike's head tube can be brought closer to the seat tube, to accommodate people with torso and arms that are proportionately shorter than the same in average proportioned men

oh, I didn't notice! hehe...

yeah, now I can see the head tube angle...

I'm not a racer so I often forget about the jockey position... (:

it's a nice bike, but I already got one for my short friend...
